Responsibilities\rGenerate original stories and publish content for our digital platformsGather news elements, chase breaking news, and keep published content updated with new developmentsProofread and fact check copy using Canadian Press Style ensuring accuracy, consistency and adherence to standards of all online material (headlines, captions, photos, video, etc.)Photo and video editingCurate high-interest digital content from other CTV News stations and pitch local content for cross-publishing considerationMaximize content's discoverability using keywords and SEO practicesResearch, book, and conduct interviewsOther duties as assignedQualifications\rGraduate of a broadcast journalism-specific University or College programPrior newsroom and journalism experienceMust have strong writing skills, communication skills and attention to detailStrong time management, prioritization and multi-tasking abilities and be able to meet constant tight deadlinesPrior newsroom and journalism experiencePrior web publishing experience and familiarity with SEOTeam player and capable of producing quality work in a deadline-driven environmentMust have a valid Ontario driver’s licenseDesired qualifications\rKnowledge of the northern Ontario region

 

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
