Digital Content Manager

The Digital Content Manager sets and executes local digital strategy to achieve Nexstar’s business goals to grow and engage digital audience across all platforms.
Knowledge and experience writing for digital and broadcast platformsStrong knowledge of Associated Press style and journalistic integrityManage social media accountsResponsible for working with the News Director creating and managing internal system processes to keep all digital platforms up-to-date, current and competitive with other local news stationsPartner with local sales management to achieve revenue targets by capitalizing on alternate revenue streamsResponsible for the overall management and functionality of the website and all other assigned digital platforms such as mobile, tablet, social and third-party/syndicatedWork collaboratively with corporate digital team on implementation, support and training for current and new products and platformsOptimize stories, pages and sections of the website for search engine optimizationTrack monthly analytics including standard web, advertiser, video, mobile and socialWork closely with all departments (News, Advertising, Marketing, Sales) in a collaborative manner to support their digital needsConceptualize and create new content areas on the website and manage others engaged in similar assignmentsWork with site partners and advertisers to create and maintain web contentTroubleshoot any problems that may develop with the websiteProvide digital training and development for station colleaguesRequirements & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 3-5 years comprehensive experience in digital media, journalism, broadcast or media sales2 - 5 years of supervisory experience strongly preferredKnowledge of online content management systems (CMSs), such as WordPress and HTMLKnowledge of additional web design/development applications such as JavaScript, Adobe Photoshop, and FTP is strongly preferredAbility to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced newsroom environmentAbility to meet deadlinesAbility to work collaboratively with editorial, sales and marketing leadersAbility to learn and master new systemsStrong sense of initiative and focus on continuous learningAbility to build strong relationships in the local station, with the corporate team, and with third-party partnersDemonstrate entrepreneurial abilities with start-up business/project skills strongly preferredKnowledge of social media and SEO concepts and a rich understanding of all things digital including video, mobile and tablet applications strongly preferredDemonstrate prior success in growing social media audiences and communities (including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Reddit and YouTube)#LI-Onsitee
