What is the opportunity?

This unique position calls on student focused, digital first advice expertise as well as natural problem-solving skills to maximize each interaction. Specifically, you help clients (primarily University students) with their everyday banking, credit, and investment needs through the use of new digital tools in our RBC University locations. As an RBC ambassador, you add value in the moments that matter most to students and collaborate with RBC colleagues and partners to help students achieve their goals. Whether you’re demonstrating how to use digital banking, assisting through the new client on-boarding process, referring a more complex opportunity to a colleague or specialist or providing advice to students around studying abroad, taking a gap year or joining the workforce, your expertise will contribute to creating meaningful and memorable experiences that drive client satisfaction and loyalty.

What will you do?

Focus on student education and demonstration, leveraging new digital solutions to deliver a memorable client experience, drive brand value and retain relationshipsActively listen and engage students in conversation to further understand their individual needsProactively take ownership of resolving and preventing client banking problemsCultivate and maintain relationships with students, colleagues and partners to make the most of advice opportunities and referralsProactively engage with students in all areas of the branch and in the community, uncovering banking needs, providing help and advice, as well as identifying sales and referral opportunitiesRespond to client-initiated contact, assisting them with a range of self and assisted service financial transactions

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

A warm, friendly and approachable attitude with a demonstrated passion for putting clients first, as well as demonstrated success in a fast-paced retail environmentAbove average digital literacy across a broad range of devices (e.g., smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.) and can learn new technology very quicklySuperior emotional intelligence and situational awareness as well as problem-solving and people skills with the ability to build strong relationships and proactively connect with clientsEntrepreneurial attitude who is adaptable, eager to learn, has strong personal ethics and a hunger for successMutual Funds accreditation (e.g., Investment Funds in Canada or the Canadian Securities Course
