Optum Smokey Point is expanding its services to include a dedicated Lifestyle & Metabolic Medicine branch, focusing on evidence-based weight management and metabolic health. Our multidisciplinary team includes physicians, a virtual nurse practitioner, and a Dietician to support patients in achieving sustainable weight loss and improved health outcomes.

 

We are seeking a full-time Dietician to join our growing team. This role involves working closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop personalized nutrition plans that complement medical weight loss treatments. The ideal candidate is passionate about metabolic health, weight management, and patient-centered care.

 

Schedule & Compensation:

Full-time position (40 hours/week)Hybrid work model available, though the majority of the role is on-site at Optum Smokey PointCompetitive salary and benefits package, including CME opportunities

 

This position follows a hybrid schedule with three in-office days per week.
 

Primary Responsibilities:

Conduct individualized nutrition assessments for patients pursuing weight loss and metabolic health improvementDevelop and implement personalized dietary plans based on patients' medical conditions, lifestyle, and goalsProvide ongoing counseling, education, and motivational support to patientsCollaborate with physicians and the virtual nurse practitioner to integrate nutrition therapy into comprehensive treatment plansStay current with emerging research in metabolic health, weight management, and lifestyle medicineMaintain thorough documentation of patient progress in the electronic health record (EHR) systemOffer group education sessions or workshops on nutrition, meal planning, and behavior change strategiesAssist in developing clinic protocols, nutrition-related materials, and dietary guidelines

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related fieldRegistered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credentialState licensure (if applicable)Ability to manage a daily caseload of 12-18 patients efficientlyComfortable working in a hybrid environment, if needed

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in weight management, metabolic medicine, or lifestyle medicineSolid interpersonal and communication skills for patient counseling and collaboration with the healthcare team

 

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $48,700 to $87,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
