Dietitian - Kidney Transplant - 40hrs - Days

Department: Kidney Transplant

Schedule: 40 hrs/week, 8 hrs/day, 7:30am-4:00pm, no weekends, no holidays

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Kidney transplant patient assessment and counseling Assesses patients for nutritional status to determine if they qualify for organ transplant.  Provides interventions/treatments throughout patients transplant journey including diet assessment, weight loss advising, diabetes education and food hygiene practices. All potential transplant recipients are required by CMS to be seen by a transplant dietitian in the pre-transplant, hospital, and post-transplant phases of the transplant process. Collaborates with physicians, nursing and ancillary services. Monitors tolerance and effectiveness of nutritional regimen and recommends therapy adjustments as necessary. Provides medical nutrition therapy and evaluates effectiveness of treatments. Researches and takes initiatives to resolve nutrition care related complaints and problems.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Previous renal, bariatric, or diabetes experience preferred Bachelors in Dietetics 2+ years' experience preferred

CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED

Dietitian credentialed from the Commission on Dietetic Registration obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.  Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association BLS Provider preferred.
