Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is looking to hire a qualified Per Diem Registered Dietician in Somerville, NJ.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor s Degree in Nutrition or equivalent Required

Preferred:

Master s Degree in Nutrition or equivalent PreferredMinimum of 1 year Preferred

Certifications and Licenses Required:

Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Required Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic AssociationNewly credentialed dietitians will be considered

Scheduling Requirements:

Day Shift (every 4th weekend and some weekdays as needed)Per Diem Schedule

Essential Functions:

Collaborates with members of the health care team to provide medical nutritional therapyIdentifies patients at high nutritional risk based on criteria outlined by the hospitalAssess nutritional needs and identifies nutrient requirements according to age and disease specific needs of patientsDevelops and implements the nutrition care plan for all assigned patientsFacilitates continuity of care among all phases across the continuum of careContinuously evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutritional therapy interventionProvides nutrition education to patient and family members on appropriate food selections and eating behaviors to accomplish patient goalsManages the delivery of nutrition care services according to area of assignmentParticipates in performance improvement and research activitiesSupervises dietetic technicians and mentors dietetic interns/studentsActively assess, evaluates, and maintains professional development and competency
