**DESCRIPTION**
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in Scarborough, ME.
**In this role will make an impact in the following ways:**
+ Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
+ Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
+ Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
+ Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
+ Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
+ Maintain own tools
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**To be successful in this role you will need the following:**
+ Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
+ Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
+ Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.
+ Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.
+ Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.
+ Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software
**Compensation and Benefits**
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. **Education, Licenses, Certifications:**
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
**Experience:**
Minimal level of work shop experience required
Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
**QUALIFICATIONS**
+ A strong interest in learning about **power generation systems**
+ Curiosity about or basic familiarity with **marine environments** (we’ll provide training!)
+ Ability to identify issues and perform **complete unit or chassis repairs**
+ A commitment to working **safely in confined spaces**
+ A **Class A driver’s license** is a plus—but if you don’t have one, we’ll support you in obtaining it within 24 months
