Diesel Mechanic Technician

BASIC PURPOSE To provide a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment. Reefer Mechanic will be responsible for the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of the Fleet road equipment including tractor, trailer, thermo-king, converter dolly and maintenance vehicles. Ensure compliance with all State and Federal trucking regulations. Reefer Mechanics will also be responsible for the documentation, completion, and to keep current the maintenance logs for all repairs and parts used daily. **Our Diesel Mechanics start at** **$38.00** **an hou** **r** **+$1** **for night shift differential** **,** **with additional scale for experience and/or certifications! US FOODS®** is one of the largest food distributors with a culture and history of promotion from within, excellent training programs, a continuous improvement focus, and **$300 quarterly tool allowance.** **Schedule:** **Sunday -Thursday / 5:00pm -1:30am** **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** + Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel reefer equipment (THERMO KING & CARRIER TRAILER REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS, Reefer Microprocessors, etc.). + Perform preventative maintenance within manufacturer standards. + Mentor other maintenance shop personnel. + Receive road calls, assign third party vendor, and work with business partners on plan of action. + Utilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used. + Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines. + Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications. + Other duties as assigned by manager. **SUPERVISION** : + N/A **RELATIONSHIPS** + **Internal:** All Fleet Technicians, Drivers, Coordinators and Manager. + **External:** Dealer Service Managers. **WORK ENVIRONMENT** + **Onsite** : The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** + Must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician.
