Die-Cutting Operator

Position Summary 

The primary function of this role is to set up and operate die cutting machinery to convert and embellish flat end or printed sheets into single units for finishing.

 

Key   Accountabilities

Inspecting printed products for accuracy and compliance with quality standardsCoordinating and liaising with Offsider to ensure jobs are prepared according to specifications.Effectively managing time and prioritising tasks to ensure make ready and set up is efficient and correct.Preparing the machine to the standard required for the conversion or embellishment (make ready). Selecting the appropriate parts to undertake the job (eg, blanking units, pin chases and knives). Selecting and installing knives in accordance with specifications.Monitoring machine to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary. Conducting routine maintenance in accordance with the Daily Equipment Care checklistInterpreting job tickets and work ordersIdentifying and controlling any hazards associated with delivery and set up of machineAssessing the finished product to ensure quality standards are metReviewing workload to ensure all work is managed in a timely mannerPerforming quality checks and determining proper corrective actionsAssisting to maintain supply of materials, using a pallet jack to move palletised materials and/or change or stack empty pallets.Completing necessary reports in an accurate and timely mannerAssisting in training staff where applicable Key Performance IndicatorsMaintaining production efficiencies to minimise and reduce machine downtime.Prompt identification of defects to maintain a quality standard and minimise customer complaints.Working safely and reporting hazards to minimise and reduce lost time and injuriesManaging change by championing and adopting system and process updates and improvements. Qualifications & ExperienceExperience as a Die Cut Operator – minimum 1 yearManufacturing experience in a fast-paced environment – minimum 1 yearOffsider and Pre-Make Ready experience and knowledgeForklift License
