Die-Cutting Operator

Position Summary
The primary function of this role is to set up and operate die cutting machinery to convert and embellish flat end or printed sheets into single units for finishing.
Key Accountabilities
* Inspecting printed products for accuracy and compliance with quality standards
* Coordinating and liaising with Offsider to ensure jobs are prepared according to specifications.
* Effectively managing time and prioritising tasks to ensure make ready and set up is efficient and correct.
* Preparing the machine to the standard required for the conversion or embellishment (make ready).
* Selecting the appropriate parts to undertake the job (eg, blanking units, pin chases and knives). Selecting and installing knives in accordance with specifications.
* Monitoring machine to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary.
* Conducting routine maintenance in accordance with the Daily Equipment Care checklist
* Interpreting job tickets and work orders
* Identifying and controlling any hazards associated with delivery and set up of machine
* Assessing the finished product to ensure quality standards are met
* Reviewing workload to ensure all work is managed in a timely manner
* Performing quality checks and determining proper corrective actions
* Assisting to maintain supply of materials, using a pallet jack to move palletised materials and/or change or stack empty pallets.
* Completing necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner
* Assisting in training staff where applicable
Key Performance Indicators
* Maintaining production efficiencies to minimise and reduce machine downtime.
* Prompt identification of defects to maintain a quality standard and minimise customer complaints.
* Working safely and reporting hazards to minimise and reduce lost time and injuries
* Managing change by championing and adopting system and process updates and improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience as a Die Cut Operator - minimum 1 year
* Manufacturing experience in a fast-paced environment - minimum 1 year
* Offsider and Pre-Make Ready experience and knowledge
* Forklift License
