Dialysis LPN

Status: Part-Time (0.5 FTE)
Provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: At least 6 months of acute care or dialysis experience preferred.
EDUCATION: A graduate from a technical school of nursing. Maintains knowledge, skills, and abilities through ongoing education. Completes all mandatory review/education as required and assigned. IV certification required for dialysis.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Current Montana State Board of Nursing licensure as an LPN. Certification as a dialysis LPN or technician is encouraged, but not required. BLS required.
Under direct supervision of the RN, performs routine chronic hemodialysis procedures according to standardized protocols and procedures and documents this in the medical record. Communicates patient status information to supervisory RN. Administers medications and performs other prescribed treatments and dressing changes. Does patient transports to and from other hospital areas and parking lot as assigned. Cleans, maintains, and monitors department equipment and documents this Provides input for the interdisciplinary plan of care. Performs clerical and other duties as assigned
