DG BOSS: Laundry AttendantUnder the supervision of the Lead, Laundry Attendant, and/or Laundry Supervisor, the Laundry Attendants work with both washers and dryers to clean articles, such as military clothing, medical,
bedding, etc.
Provides laundry services IAW U.S. laundry industry standards, NAVMED-P5010 and MIL-STD-665.Provides laundry pick-up and drop-off in the downtown cantonment area for all customers.Provides laundry services to be completed within three (3) working days of receipt from the customer.Performs work that involves the operation of washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment.Load of article into the washer and add the specified amount of detergent, soap, or other approved cleaning agent.Loads of articles into the dryer complete the drying cycle and ensure items are dry.Ensures machines are not loaded beyond their capacity.Observe the operation of equipment and report any mechanical and electrical problems and malfunctions that may arise.Operates steam, flatwork iron, and hand iron.Sorts clean and dirty linen.Performs additional laundry services when necessary.Basic Qualifications:
Familiarity with cleaning detergents and laundering equipment.Physical strength, capacity, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds, as well as stand and move around.Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion of multiple tasks, under strict deadlines and changing priorities.Comfort multitasking and handling multiple requests from military and other patrons.Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing in English.Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.EDUCATION:
Must be at least a high school technical or vocational course graduate.EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in performing laundry functions.Experience in any laundry shop in a commercial establishment is highly desirable.
