Title:
DG BOSS: Engine Mechanic
+ Engine Mechanic is present during operating hours to test/certify the mechanical soundness of all engines and watercraft.
+ Responsible for the repair and maintenance of boats, including engines (inboard and outboard motors), systems, and other boat components to ensure they are running safely and efficiently.
+ Inspect engines, propellers, steering systems, and other parts of the vessel and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
+ Perform scheduled maintenance, overhauls, and tune-ups on inboard and outboard engines.
+ Assess and replace parts, such as fuel pumps, water pumps, spark plugs, and other electrical components.
+ Ensures the safe and efficient operation of vessels and troubleshoots any issues that arise.
+ Observe and follow all industrial and afloat safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
Basic Qualifications
+ Must have a thorough knowledge of marine engines and their components, as well as the ability to diagnose and repair complex problems.
+ Must know safety protocols and regulations applicable to marine vessels.
+ Must have strong mechanical and problem-solving skills, as well as knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
+ Must speak, read, and understand the English Language.
+ Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
Preferred Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING
+ Must have completed and passed the training requirements IAW NAVEDTRA 43241-P Personnel Qualification Standard (PQS)
+ 301 Maintenance Person
+ Adult First Aid/CPR/AED Training from American Red Cross
+ Star Service Program: Creating Stellar Customer Relations
EDUCATION:
+ Must be at least a High School, Technical, or Vocational course graduate is required; An Associate or bachelor’s degree in marine engineering, or other related maritime fields from an accredited university or college is highly desired.
EXPERIENCE:
+ Must have ten years of satisfactory experience in servicing, maintaining, repairing, testing, and certifying engine-driven boats that are seaworthy for use.
