Title: DG BOSS: Bartender PROGRAM SUMMARY: + KBR provides provide integrated Base Operations Support (BOS) services to the Commanding Officer, Navy Support Facility, Diego Garcia (NSF DG) in support of its mission as a Forward, logistics, support base in the British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT). JOB SUMMARY: + The Bartender at MWR Clubs is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to club members and guests in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner. The role involves maintaining a clean and organized bar area, ensuring compliance with all safety and alcohol service regulations, and delivering excellent customer service to enhance the overall guest experience. The Bartender will also handle cash and credit transactions accurately and support the club’s events and activities as needed. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Responsible for the complete set-up of assigned bar areas and lounges. + Operation of register and verification of funds. + Must be able to take multiple orders from customers and/or servers with little error. + Must have the ability to prepare drinks to include garnish from memorized recipes provided. + Keep the area clean and neat at all times both inside and outside bar areas. + Maintains high levels of sanitation in the bars. + Stock all liquors and related products correctly. + Assist management in maintaining appropriate stock levels. + Perform nightly and monthly inventories of all bar-related products. + Records daily/monthly inventories and maintains proper records. + Perform reconciliation to Daily Activity Records (DARs). + Ensure proper cash handling procedures are strictly adhered to. + Follows proper ServSafe training standards for the serving of alcoholic beverages. + Assigned areas may include but are not limited to service bar/portable bars for catered events. + This position requires light to moderate lifting and carrying objects, pushing and pulling objects. + Ensure proper labeling of consumable items. + Strictly adheres to the FIFO method when pulling or using stocks. + Performs any other duties as required. BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): + Knowledge and skill to mix and serve beverages of different varieties and brands of liquor, soda, and beer. + Pre-mixed beverages, such as soda and energy drinks are also served. + Knowledge of the correct proportions and mixtures to use in preparing beverages according to names requested from patrons. + Knowledge of proper food handling is required. + Ability to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed. + Ability to follow an order schedule, visually being able to evaluate what products need to be ordered to keep items available until the next delivery. + Attention to detail and ability to stay organized. + Ability to collect tabs or chits in appropriate amounts and reconcile them with the quantities and prices of items dispensed. + Ability to run a basic cash register and basic math skills. + Must have a good command of the English language both oral & written. + Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health. + A driver’s license is highly preferred. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING + Personnel who handle food and beverages must receive four hours of training within 30 days of employment with an additional four hours of annual food sanitation training and must be certified per NAVMED P-5010-1 and CNICINST 1710.3. + Bartenders who do not prepare food shall be required to have one hour of initial food sanitation training. + Alcohol servers shall meet the minimum age requirement and receive annual training in Controlling Alcohol Risk Effectively (CARE) or Alcohol Server Intervention Training course per CNICINST 1710.3 by CNIC. + Adult First Aid, CPR, and AED + Star Service + Cash Handling + ServSafe Food Handler + ServSafe Alcohol EDUCATION: + Must be at least a high school, technical, or vocational course graduate. EXPERIENCE: + Must have at least six (6) months of bartender service experience, have the ability, knowledge, and experience to prepare the most popular drinks, and follow instructions in the bartender’s guide for more intricate drinks.
