DevOps Team lead - Customer Data Platform

Position Overview


We are looking for an experienced and passionate DevOps Team Lead to guide and mentor a team of DevOps engineers supporting our Customer Data Platform (CDP). In this role, you will combine hands-on DevOps work with team leadership responsibilities. You will lead efforts to improve the scalability, reliability, and automation of our CI/CD infrastructure and production environments while driving innovation and best practices across the team.

 

What you'll do

 

Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and operational excellence. Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure systems. Oversee the design and evolution of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and monitoring systems. Ensure production systems meet high standards for availability, performance, and security. Drive incident management and root cause analysis for critical system issues. Take ownership of team planning, prioritization, and execution of DevOps-related projects. Promote best practices in infrastructure as code, observability, and automation. Provide guidance during off-hours incidents when needed.

What you bring

 

 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. 7+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering, including at least 2 years in a leadership or mentorship capacity. Deep hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Strong proficiency with cloud providers such as AWS or Azure. Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred). Expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like TeamCity, Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions. Solid experience in system monitoring, logging, and performance tuning. Strong Bash scripting skills; additional experience in Python, Java, or Go is a plus. Familiarity with NoSQL databases (Elasticsearch, Redis, etc.) and event-streaming systems (Kafka, Spark). A strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Comfortable working from our Budapest office 3 times per week.
