Kemper is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer.  The DevOps Engineer 3 works as part of a collaborative team responsible for supporting and evolving continuous integration and automated release processes across on-premises and public cloud environments. This role helps maintain system stability, improve build/test pipelines, and automate deployments in support of the organization’s growth and evolving needs.

The focus will be on delivering efficient, reliable automation while ensuring quality and scalability across the development lifecycle. This engineer will contribute to agile teams, helping improve software delivery through better tooling, automation, and infrastructure practices.

Responsibilities

Support and improve the agile SDLC process and related toolsContribute to the automation of software builds, tests, and deploymentsMaintain and enhance infrastructure for build and test environmentsCollaborate with development and QA teams to streamline product deliveryMonitor and troubleshoot build/test infrastructureParticipate in the development and improvement of CI/CD pipelinesContribute to infrastructure as code solutions for repeatable deploymentsAssist in documentation of build and release processesProvide operational support for DevOps tools and services

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience3–5 years of experience in development, infrastructure, or automation rolesWorking knowledge of DevOps principles and CI/CD best practicesHands-on experience with source control systems like GitAdministration experience with Snowflake or Informatica IDMC preferredProficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Bash scripting)Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation or Ansible)Experience with AWS or another public cloud providerUnderstanding of Linux and/or Windows system administrationExperience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools preferredExperience with serverless tools (e.g., AWS Lambda) is a plusFamiliarity with Snowflake, Informatica or HVR as a plusThis position works at a Kemper office

The range for this position is $77100 to $128500. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is eligible for Kemper benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.).
