Job Description
The DevOps Engineer plays a critical role in the software development life cycle, serving as a core member of each project team. This role involves collaborating with Project Engineers to design and implement continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines that facilitate software build, test, and delivery automation. The DevOps Engineer also works closely with Cyber Security and SecOps to ensure the integration of code quality and security static analysis tools, as well as open-source software vulnerability scanners. Additionally, collaboration with Software Quality Specialists is essential to integrate test automation into the CI/CD pipeline. The position requires contributing to continuous learning and improvement processes, ensuring that DevOps practices and tools evolve to meet changing technological and business needs.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with project teams to conceptualize, develop, test, and release software.Design and implement CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with project teams.Support Software Quality Engineering to enable and integrate automated testing with CI/CD pipelines.Implement Infrastructure as Code in collaboration with IT and Cloud Architecture to automate infrastructure.Work with Cyber Security to implement software security policies to prevent breaches and vulnerabilities.Contribute to the design and implementation of deployment and monitoring tools to improve operational efficiency.Participate in continuous improvements in DevOps practices to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.6+ years of experience in software development or systems administration.Expert-level knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, and Powershell.Strong understanding of source control tools and CI/CD tools.Expert-level knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, Salt, or similar technologies.Familiarity with monitoring stacks like ELK, Grafana/Prometheus, or DynaTrace.Exceptional written and oral communication skills.Experience leading and mentoring junior and intermediate DevOps engineers.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with highly secure environments following NIST 800-171 and CIS guidelines.Experience in partially air-gapped environments.Platform certification.Expert-level experience with package management tools such as Sonatype Nexus.Knowledge of distributed infrastructure such as Kafka.Expertise in identity and access management platforms like Keycloak and AWS Cognito.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.28/hr.
