The Development Sr Specialist plans and carries out Identify, Engage and Cultivation activities, so as to maintain and develop the donation of funds and gifts for AdventHealth (AH) programs. The position focuses on hospital visits, initial telephone calls to secure appointments, and identify and Engage Stage Core Process prospect meetings. This position prepares moves plans and coordinates Cultivation and Solicitation Stage activities for gifts targeted at less than $100,000 (total team may be responsible for a larger metric, however this position acts as a closer for gifts targeted at less than $100,000; as a team member, remains responsible to assist in raising the goal set). This will be in accordance with specified annual fundraising goals set forth by the AH Foundation. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The value youll bring to the team:

Follow the Foundations Major Gift Core Process to Identify, Engage, Cultivate, Solicit and Steward a donor portfolio that includes, individuals (major gift donors and grateful patients), corporations, physicians, staff, and administrators.

Focus on Core Process and soliciting gifts of $25,000 to $500,000 independently. Seek guidance from VP level supervisor in developing solicitation strategy. Model Core Process for Development Coordinator and Development Specialist levels.

Meet or exceed visit metrics of 6 to 10 meetings per week, 24-40 meetings per month, and 240-400 meetings (NO chance encounters) per year to help achieve the Major Gift fundraising goal for the beneficiary.

Use the Major Gifts Core Process to manage a portfolio of 120 or more prospects and solicit 20- 24 Major Gifts per year to meet fundraising goals of $500,000 annually, (minimum of $25,000 for multi-year pledges), to be created and managed in Raisers Edge through Proposal module. Bequest/Planned Gift options will be explored with all Major Gifts Donors of age 55 and above as part of the process.

Ensure monthly solicitations by creating a balanced portfolio with sufficient prospects at the Identify, Engage, Cultivate, Solicit and Stewardship stages of the Core Process to achieve solicitation goals over a multi-year period. Increase by 10% year over year number of NEW prospects added to beneficiary pipeline (3YR Rolling AVG).

Manage Board/Administrator meetings to communicate a clear message that is compelling and aligned with the Mission/Vision of the beneficiary/Hospital priorities by engaging Hospital Leadership, Physicians, Nurses, Board Members and volunteers.

Document all visits, solicits and moves within the Core Process in Raisers Edge for monthly reporting and tracking.

The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed :

Minimum qualifications :

Bachelors degree in Non-Profit Management, Healthcare Administration, Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, communications, social science, or related field, OR Five (5) years experience as a Development Officer in a regional or national organization with an active major gifts program that is part of an overall development effort

Experience in major gifting, with a track record of raising greater than $500,000 in a twelve-month period.

Experience in capital or special campaigns, with a track record of raising $500,000 in a twelve-month period.

Experience in volunteer or professional fundraising.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

Four (4) years as a Development Officer at AH or another hospital system

Masters degree in Non-Profit Management, Healthcare Administration, Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, communications, social science, or related field

Three (3) years experience in beneficiary fundraising area of focus (Childrens, Cancer, Cardio, Diabetes, etc.)

Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE)
