Development Plant Process Engineer

Location: Culham, Oxfordshire

This role would welcome candidates who are recent graduates in Chemical Engineering, looking to kick start a career in Process Engineering.

The role:

As a Process Engineer, you will help drive our goals by:

Being responsible for activities related to process innovation, process design, scale up and improvement of JM’s Hydrogen Technologies membrane & catalyst technologies, focusing mainly on novel dispersion making and/or deposition and assembly processes.

Working within the Hydrogen Technologies Process Technology team and in collaboration with the Technology, Capital Projects, Operations and Pilot Plant teams to support successful delivery aligned to business objectives.

Responsible for the development of process technology & scale up of new products in the areas of roll-to-roll manufacture and assembly to meet quality and commercial targets. (inks, rheology, coating, automation, analytics, etc.)

Plan and execute qualification and validation trials and prototyping campaigns to ensure new roll-to-roll/converted products can be manufactured at commercial scale (across JM sites and at third parties).

Responsible (with limited supervision) for the production of key process technology controls and documentation including technical risk reviews/assessments, FMEA, change management, technology & quality manuals, bases of safety, etc

Key skills/qualifications that will help you succeed in this role:

Degree in Chemical / Process Engineering based subject or equivalent with industrial experience

Demonstrated experience in roll-to-roll manufacturing processes, coating or printing

Proactive & independent with a can-do attitude and creative approach to overcoming challenges

Delivery-focused and able to achieve business critical timescales and work under pressure
