This temporary position will support annual giving and stewardship efforts for the MB. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a donor-focused mindset. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in higher education fundraising while contributing to the MMB's continued success.
This is a temporary position reporting to the Director of Marching and Athletic Bands. It is expected that this position will be ongoing for a period of 6-7 months to cover the football season.
Responsibilities*Annual Giving
Coordinate with the SMTD Annual Fund team to implement annual giving solicitations for the MMB, including direct mail, email, and tele fund appeals. Partner with the MMB/SMTD marketing and communications teams to ensure alignment with brand guidelines.Ensure that giving communications align with MMB's priorities and areas of greatest need.Serve as team lead for MMB's 'Giving Blueday' and student philanthropy events such as "Hail Yeah."Stewardship
Manage production of yearly impact reports across endowed and expendable gift funds, including packet assembly, printing, and mailing.Provide responsive customer service to donors at all levels and collaborate with the SMTD Stewardship Director to resolve gift-processing issues.Generate donor-related reports using BusinessObjects, DART, and Tableau.Arrange campus visit schedules for donors, including itineraries, meetings, and parking.Events
Create and update attendance, seating, dietary, and leadership reports as needed; manage guest lists for invitations, reminders, and confirmations.Produce printed event materials; prepare shipping packages for university leadership and special guests (e.g., tickets, credentials).Coordinate event staffing with the Director of Development.Coordinate parent and donor wristbands and manage the donor 'tunnel' list.Serve as the primary contact for parent section coordinators; distribute credential information and coordinate parent tailgate drop-off logistics; create and manage wristband sign-ups and allocations.Share weekly schedules and develop detailed tailgate coordinator timing sheets.Determine wristband color-coding and communicate plans to the IM Building game day supervisor.Co-lead weekly volunteer meetings focused on development and logistics.Development and Prospect Research
Update and maintain donor records in the DART database.Coordinate with DART development staff for additional support.Other duties may be assigned by the Director of Marching and Athletic Bands or Director of Development and Engagement, MMB.
Required Qualifications*Bachelor's degree in a related field.At least one year of office experience, preferably in development or fundraising.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Proficiency in Google Drive and Microsoft Office Suite; database experience preferred; must be willing to learn DART and BusinessObjects.Strong customer service and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Attention to detail, discretion with sensitive information, and a collaborative spirit.Experience working effectively with different communities and cultures; experience working directly with faculty, staff and students.Availability to work nights, weekends, and game days as needed.
