The Development Coordinator is a key member of the Individual Giving team within the St. Joseph’s Health Foundation. This entry-level position supports the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of individual donors—particularly those within the grateful patient population—through proactive donor research, database management, and frontline fundraising support. A significant portion of the role involves working with daily patient screening data to identify and segment prospective donors, preparing weekly research briefs, and supporting outreach efforts by fundraisers. The Coordinator also assists with maintaining accurate donor records, creating mailing lists and reports, and helping plan and staff cultivation and stewardship events. Additional responsibilities include managing in-kind donations and third-party fundraising efforts. This position is ideal for someone early in their career who is passionate about healthcare, eager to learn, and interested in building a career in philanthropy and fundraising.
Degree or experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree.Demonstrated interest in fundraising and philanthropy—especially in a healthcare or nonprofit setting.Strong organizational, analytical, and research skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Interest in learning and using donor management systems such as Raiser’s Edge and ResearchPoint (prior experience is a plus but not required).High level of attention to detail and accuracy, especially when handling data or producing research.Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn other software tools used in development work.
