Job Title: ServiceNow SAM Developer

Experience: 5 – 8 Yrs

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced ServiceNow SAM (Software Asset Management) Developer to lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of SAM Pro solutions on the ServiceNow platform. This role requires a strong understanding of software license compliance, SAM best practices, and integration with enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient software asset lifecycle management, regulatory compliance, and cost optimization.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Development & Customization

Design, develop, and customize ServiceNow SAM Pro functionalities including license compliance, discovery, normalization, and reconciliation processes. Create and maintain publisher-specific packs and license models.

Integration

Develop and manage integrations between ServiceNow and third-party systems (e.g., SCCM, Tanium, Flexera, procurement systems, HR systems). Leverage REST/SOAP APIs for seamless data exchange across platforms.

Configuration & Implementation

Configure SAM Pro to align with organizational asset management policies. Lead full-cycle implementations of ServiceNow SAM Pro including requirement analysis, system design, configuration, testing, deployment, and support.

Maintenance & Support

Provide ongoing support and maintenance of SAM Pro solutions. Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure system performance and stability.

Compliance & Governance

Ensure alignment of SAM processes with ITIL best practices and software license agreements. Support internal and external audits by ensuring accurate reporting and documentation.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Work with business units, procurement, and IT teams to capture requirements and provide technical solutions. Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.

Continuous Learning

Stay updated with ServiceNow platform enhancements, particularly around SAM Pro and ITAM functionalities. Provide recommendations for SAM process improvements and automation.

Mandatory Skills:

ServiceNow Platform Expertise: Strong experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro module, ITSM, and ITOM. Programming & Scripting: Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide scripting, HTML, and AngularJS. Integrations: Hands-on experience with REST/SOAP APIs, JDBC, and other integration methods. ITAM/SAM Knowledge: Solid understanding of IT Asset Management processes, software discovery, license models, and compliance. Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience: Minimum 6–8 years of ServiceNow development experience with 3+ years in SAM.

Good-to-Have Skills:

Certifications: ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Implementation Specialist – SAM. Tool Experience: Exposure to integration with tools like Flexera, Snow, SCCM, BigFix, or Tanium. Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery practices. Data Management: Understanding of data normalization, licensing metrics, and software usage analytics. Reporting & Dashboards: Experience creating dashboards and reports within ServiceNow or using tools like Power BI.
