We are looking for a passionate Ab Initio Engineer to join a self-organized engineering team. In this role, you will design and develop critical software features that impact credit card consumers globally. You will work closely with Product Management and your management chain to achieve goals and vision while driving engineering best practices. Your work will focus on significant components, features, or services, ensuring operational excellence, security, quality, and continuous innovation.
Key Responsibilities: Collaborate & Develop: Work as part of a self-organized engineering team to design and develop vital software features that impact credit card consumers. Product Focus: Focus on major portions of existing or new team software (e.g., a significant component, set of features, or mid-size application/service). Drive Best Practices: Drive engineering best practices such as Operational Excellence, Security, and Quality across your team and wider engineering teams. Innovate: Contribute to innovation within your team and technical domain. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work to achieve goals and vision articulated by Product Management and your management chain. Problem Solving: Resolve questions related to requirements from product managers and propose solutions. Hands-on Development: Perform hands-on programming in the GDE and Unix scripting languages. Code Reviews: Review code developed by others, providing feedback on inconsistencies with standards and best practices. Estimate Timelines: Estimate delivery timescales and justify estimates based on project requirements and complexities. Jenkins Pipeline: Work with Jenkins pipeline principles to ensure continuous integration and deployment. Quality Advocate: Advocate for quality in all development processes and suggest improvements to reduce waste and increase throughput, such as using Pair Programming. Must-Have Skills: Ab Initio Expertise: Complete understanding of the capabilities of Ab Initio technologies. Full Software Development Lifecycle: Experience in delivering throughout the dev life cycle, from requirements gathering to deployment. Problem-Solving & Requirements Clarification: Ability to resolve questions from the team and clarify requirements from Product Managers. Solution Design: Ability to come up with solutions to requirements and identify gaps in requirements to fully define solutions. Hands-on Programming: Proficiency in Ab Initio GDE (Graphical Development Environment) and Unix scripting. Engineering Best Practices: Strong knowledge of engineering best practices such as Operational Excellence, Security, and Quality. Code Review & Standards: Ability to review code and provide feedback to ensure adherence to standards and best practices. Estimation Skills: Ability to estimate delivery timelines and justify the estimates. Agile Methodology: Strong understanding of Agile practices and ability to work in Agile environments. Jenkins Pipeline: Awareness and understanding of Jenkins pipeline principles for CI/CD processes. Good-to-Have Skills: AWS & File Storage: Awareness of AWS interactions and file storage solutions. Lambda Programming: Core understanding of AWS Lambda programming for serverless applications. Complex Problem Solving: Experience in solving real-world problems in complex, regulated environments. Innovation & Automation: Ability to identify opportunities for process automation and innovation within your team. Experience:Required Experience:
Experience in delivering software throughout the full dev life cycle. Ab Initio development experience and proficiency in GDE and Unix scripting languages. Proven ability to resolve requirements and propose solutions, including identifying gaps in requirements. Experience with engineering best practices and contributing to team process improvements. Strong understanding and experience in Agile methodologies and principles. Experience in code reviews and providing feedback to maintain quality standards. Familiarity with Jenkins pipeline principles for CI/CD.Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with AWS and Lambda programming. Experience in solving problems within complex, regulated environments. Exposure to building and maintaining scalable systems in cloud-based environments. Education: Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
