Developer (f/m/d) for Semiconductor-based Detector Materials

Then come and join our global team as Developer (f/m/d) for Semiconductor-based Detector Materials and play a key role in designing innovative materials and methods that significantly enhance the performance of SPECT scanners.

This position is full-time or part-time with a minimum of 35h/week.


Your tasks and responsibilities:

You are responsible for the technical evaluation of semiconductor-based detectors and crystal growth methods for use in SPECT scanners.You analyze II-VI bulk crystals for intrinsic and extrinsic defects and establish correlations with observable material behavior in the sensor.In collaboration with international development teams, you work on proposals to improve crystal growth processes and the characterization of detector prototypes.You independently design measurement programs and setups and carry out measurements in the laboratory independently.You support the development of detector models to stabilize and correct signal behavior.You accompany the technical knowledge transfer on-site between various international business units within Siemens Healthineers.

Your qualifications and experience:

You have a completed scientific or engineering university degree focusing on physics, materials science, crystal growth, semiconductor technology, or a similar discipline. A PhD in this field is desirable but not required.You have long-standing professional experience in the field of crystal growth, materials analysis, or industrial semiconductor manufacturing.You have laboratory experience, particularly with toxic hazardous substances.Ideally, you have experience in the production or materials analysis of crystals.Ideally, you have programming knowledge in Python, R, or Matlab to support data analysis.

You can communicate effortlessly with your German-speaking colleagues and partners; you are confident in an international environment and can communicate without issues in English with colleagues at our foreign sites.You are also willing to travel internationally to other development sites (e.g. USA) as needed (approx. 5-10%).You possess strong communication skills, are open, extroverted, and navigate confidently within different work groups.You find it easy to analyze requirements and evaluations in a structured manner and derive well-founded recommendations for action.In doing so, you always act in a socially considerate way with high sensitivity to different perspectives.Good time management helps you prioritize complex tasks efficiently and work reliably even under time pressure.
