POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide technical guidance for systems portfolio and lead large technical initiatives.
2. Develop, document, and execute unit test cases.
3. Own and resolve complex and unique technical problems and issues with assigned applications and work processes.
4. Review and recommend test plans for impacted areas and end to end test coverage.
5. Keep manager, project teams/managers and business customers informed of activities and problems within assigned areas of responsibility; refer matters beyond limits of authority to manager for direction.
6. Recommend improvements to existing processes or propose new ones, to improve the quality of project deliverables.
7. Ensure reviews for quality (accurate and complete) of application software designs are scheduled and conducted to ensure optimal use of software systems.
8. Consult with internal and external customers on the utilization of applications computing technologies, across areas of expertise, to ensure that customers optimize the value of those technologies.
9. Lead projects across technical disciplines; plan for the appropriate resources needed.
10. Develop technical knowledge and performance skills of IS projects teams for systems portfolio.
11. Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies independently or with the architect’s implementation.
12. Gather and analyze complex facts and data and draw correct inferences from the information, assess alternatives and present logical solutions to problems.
13. Implement, support, and give direction for proof-of-concept activities for new technologies.
14. Develop and obtain signs offs on technical specs, design documents, functional designs, and requirements.
15. Guide teams on long-term solutions for resolving frequently occurring production problems and reducing defect leakage.
16. Ensure code is being developed per standards with focus on maintainability and ensure unit test cases are being developed, documented, and executed with the test results recorded. Consult with Architecture team to understand and influence design.
17. Ensure batch cycles are being executed according to plan and that defects are resolved in an accurate and timely fashion.
18. Recommend corporate, department and team policies and procedures.
19. Contribute to the creation of development plans for other IS professionals.
20. Perform as technical leader for one or more projects or initiatives to define and execute a solution.
21. Provide advice, training, and technical support for various projects/situations.
22. Lead team in successful completion of phase gates for projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or related. Will accept a Bachelor’s equivalent based on a combination of education as determined by a professional evaluation service.
MINIMUM OVERALL EXPERIENCE:
8 years of experience in the job offered.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
· 4 years of experience in Java programming languages.
· 3 years of experience in Gosu programming language.
· 5 years of experience in the business process life cycles and systems located within the property and casualty insurance domain.
· 4 years of experience with Guidewire BillingCenter configuration and integration.
· 4 years of experience in modernizing and converting from legacy systems to modern cloud-based systems
