POSITION:                           Detailer- Front Line Trainer

DEPARTMENT:                  Operations

REPORTS TO:                    Production Supervisor

FLSA STATUS:                   Hourly- Grade 4 ($21.75-$22.75)

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this person supports, develops and strengthens team members’ performance and fills in for absences as needed.

Encourages safe behavior and efficiencies.Supports training initiatives of team members in standardized work through job instructions.Understands how to troubleshoot and repair line mistakes, take information back and coach team.  Maintains daily communication on production and staff needs to the Production Supervisor/Coordinator.Actively engages and encourages the involvement of team members in improvement initiatives by developing a problem-solving culture.Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.Use job instruction (JI) training method where applicable.Facilitates quick response to problems.Performs problem identificationEnsures measurable improvement goals.Notify specifics of the boat orders to be prepared for shipping (documents etc.)Train team members on how to properly use different kinds of cleaning solvents.In some cases, report any defects prior to detailing the boat.Ensures general housekeeping and maintenance of tools is completed. Train specific team members on the technique and process of shrink-wrapping during the season and identify on work order.May be required to perform other tasks as needed.

Safety and quality minded.Demonstrated successful initiative to lead others for improved performance or equivalent development.Strive for improved consistency in processes that exceed expectations.Must have held the position in good standing for one year and be able to demonstrate a high level of knowledge of the process.Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills including ability to challenge team member/peer appropriately to follow standards.Exhibits a willingness to help others, eagerness to learn, and uses a Servant Leadership Style.Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.

Required and preferred:

Must display a medium ability to use computers and software.

High School Diploma or equivalentSome Knowledge of hand tools/power tools.Able to stand, bend, and stoop for long periods of timeDetailing experience preferred but not required.Ability to follow established safety processes.Detailed and organized.Must be able to lift 50lbs.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, see, sit. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, balance, and use arms and hands to reach, pull, push, clasp, and move a variety of materials.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  The noise level in moderate to high in the manufacturing setting, may require PPE.
