Designer Footwear Color & Materials EMEA
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Footwear Color and Materials Designer II who will work with a cross-functional team of design, product management, and development partners. Someone who will leverage color and materials to deliver a premium, recognizable, innovative, and trend-relevant point of view in the European marketplace through strategic vision, design direction, storytelling and editing. Create a color and material creative vision for European consumer groups seasonally through research of European trends and insights. and go-to-market, the designer will collaborate with a team within a fast-paced, close-to-market environment and design consumer-relevant application decisions while maintaining costing targets and timely deadlines.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As the Designer II, Footwear you will implement seasonal color and material creation through European trend and insights + seasonal strategy with the design team. Building color + material stories, palettes, and cads seasonally. Plan and execute the product details and review samples and clearly communicate changes to ensure timely completion of each project. Maintain footwear product updates and seasonal looks.Build awareness of current color and material trends, through fashion, art, design, and sports-related products through market research to keep abreast of consumer needs. You will provide support for the design team as needed outside of assigned product load.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

This is an individual contributor opportunity reporting to the EMEA Footwear Design Director and involves working directly with the EMEA Footwear Design Team including Color, Graphic and Mateiral teams and the EMEA Footwear Product Management and Development teams. The Footwear Color & Material Designer II will also collaborate with Apparel counterparts to concept head-to-toe Footwear and Apparel expressions. The candidate will work with othe Geo Express Lane Design counterparts in the other Geographies, and well as Global Material, Color and Graphics designers.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education

BA/BFA/MA/MFA preferred in graphic design, fashion design, industrial design, material design, textile design or a related field.

Experience

Bachelor’s degree in design, Art or a related field or 3-4 years of experience within a design environment working with materials/ or color/ trendsExhibits strong design-thinking; has the potential to learn strategic thinking and merchandisingLearns how to achieve desired color effects through materials, finishes, and graphic applicationBasic understanding of most material types and application to productProven European trend + consumer knowledge/insights Enthusiastic and curious, carries a self-starting attitude, open to learningGreat Presentation Skills; Visual Communication; Information SeekerStrong organizational skills, Strong multi-tasker, Ability to manage several seasons at one timeExperience in collaborative working environment and competing resources and deadlinesMacintosh computer experience, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator skillsStrong passion and experience for digital tools/development; tech-savvyNIKE, Inc. is a growth company that looks for team members to grow with it.
