Join our team as a drafter, where you will play a crucial role in developing detailed part and assembly drawings for mechanical equipment. As we prepare for the retirement of a valued team member, we are eager to bring on a new drafter who can seamlessly integrate into our small team.
ResponsibilitiesSpend 90% of the workday at a CAD station developing detail part and assembly drawings for mechanical equipment, including drying equipment, conveyors, air filtration, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.Interpret existing prints, locate and modify existing drawings, and release them for production.Provide engineering support for the sales team and create installation drawings.Specify and locate individual components.Occasionally travel to customer sites to take measurements (once permanent).Perform filing and data entry of engineering documentation.
Essential SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD (75% of the time) and Inventor (25% of the time).Experience in creating part drawings, assembly drawings, and fabrication drawings.Experience with steel fabrication drawings, particularly those 1/4 inch or thicker.Ability to use a tape measure accurately to check part dimensions.Detail-oriented and willing to assist in various tasks as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications1-2 years of experience with Inventor.Associate's degree in drafting or equivalent.Experience working in a fabrication environment.
Work Environment
You will primarily work at a desk in your own designated space, focusing on tasks with minimal social interaction. Expect to receive daily instructions and execute them independently, reaching out for guidance as needed. Be prepared to work extra hours from October to March during the busy season. Travel may be required up to 15%, involving visits to customer sites for measurements. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
