Design Release Engineer

 

TITLE: Design Release Engineer

 

DUTIES: Responsible for the development and release of one or more of the following devices/systems: RF receiver modules, RF transmitter key fob, ignition start/stop button. Coordinate required testing activities and communicate results between the supplier and Stellantis cross-functional groups; interface with tier 1 suppliers to track program timing and deliverables; resolve component software and hardware issues alongside the supplier at both the component level and vehicle level; support manufacturing builds at both supplier facility and Stellantis vehicle assembly plants; work with supplier on DFMEA and DV and PV tests and meet Stellantis published product milestones; author Performance Specifications (PF-spec) and Design Validation Test Plan (DVP); review and sign off on Suppliers Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA); review, develop and verify Diagnostic Definition Tables (DDT) meets vehicle level and component level functional objectives and warranty analysis requirements; apply design best practices and lessons learned from past product developments within Stellantis; develop and release modules for each Product Team by monitoring timelines, project deliverables, and cross platform read across; interface with EE systems engineering in the development of vehicle functional (VF) specifications and work with our suppliers on Requirements Analysis (RAR); review and approve software and hardware releases and changes, including DVP&R's and Software Component Verification/Validation Reports (CVVRs's); support efforts to meet warranty targets and relevant quality service field initiatives; communicate component product development status on a weekly basis via DRE authored and maintain open issues list/project timelines and technical presentations; ensure component level regulatory compliance requirements are met by coordinating with suppliers and internal Stellantis regulatory compliance teams; interface with global employees to harmonize product designs, processes, and documentation to promote component re-use; facilitate suppliers in developing, testing and releasing hardware and software to meet Stellantis vehicle level functional objectives and subsystem level behavior objectives; directly involved with supplier design efforts and design reviews to ensure the supplier design meets Stellantis expectation as listed in Stellantis specifications; meet all vehicle program milestones and conduct all releasing processes within Stellantis related to the component and its interface within the vehicle.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related and 5 years of experience in job offered or related position working in automotive Electronic Control Unit development. Experience must include: working with Vector CAN tools (CANalyzer or CANoe) related to CAN/CAN-FD vehicle bus networking protocols; reading and interpreting Electrical Engineering

schematics and system level block diagrams; experience with vehicle level validation; reviewing software code and test methods/reports; identifying the gaps that reduce system cost varying from component to process systems; experience with product development of passive entry, passive start, Remote Key Entry (RKE) and tire pressure monitor features.
