The primary role of the Design Lead will be to drive, support the promote the growth of our interior design business in Taipei, and support our internal business partners with best-in-class design services. This will involve building internal and external client relationships and overseeing and being responsible for the overall design delivery process. There will be an opportunity to work on standalone design commissions, as well as integrated pursuits within CBRE supporting our Leasing and Workplace Consulting teams. The growth of a Design business in Taipei forms part of our larger strategy to create a regional design capability extending across Asia Pacific. We currently have over 150 designers across the region with teams in Singapore, Japan, India, Thailand, South Korea & Hongkong network of 150+ design professionals in EMEA. **Key Responsibilities:** + Work with the Regional Head of Design and local CBRE leadership to help grow and promote an in-house design capability in Taipei. + Work with Regional Head of Design to carry out the design vision and strategic approach. + Client facing role as key representative/face for design in Taipei, whilst coordinating with regional design teams to supply design production, as we build up a local design capability. + Primary daily contact with the client for all project design-related matters, manage client requests to ensure we are providing an exemplary service to our customers, and assist with building client relations. + Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business partners, primarily in Project Management, Principal Contracting, Brokerage Transaction teams (commercial leasing), and Workplace Consulting. + Responsible for the overall design delivery process, and leadership to oversee performance of design services with the aim of expanding scope, minimizing risk to CBRE, and enhancing customer satisfaction. + Responsible for planning, organizing and directing project activities, workflow, and other day-to-day activities, to ensure goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and budget, and other performance targets. + Coordinate with outside consultants, engineering disciplines and Project Managers. + Carry out work plans for each project, managing creative and technical design delivery. + Implement established design schedules ensuring milestone reviews. + Responsible for manpower budgets, project cost controls, interpreting contracted scope of work, administration, and QA/QC processes. + Assist and support in areas of staffing, mentoring, etc. + Involvement with budgeting and financial management. + Lead by example and model behavior consistent with the company's values. + Perform other related duties as and when required. **Required Knowledge & Skills:** + Relevant and appropriate experience in a similar senior position and experience in design leadership roles. + Design background (architecture, interior design, WP Design) with substantial experience with workplace interiors + Substantial experience within the design, and design and build industry. + Exceptional design and technical skills, including expertise in all conventional aspects of technical design principles and delivery. + Team leadership, coordination, mentoring, and motivation. + Exceptional creative skills, design visioning and innovation. + Extensive knowledge and experience working in the local market. **Qualification, Education & Experience:** + 8+ years in the design industry with relevant commercial workplace experience. + BA (minimum) in Interior Design / Architecture from reputable and accredited curriculum or board. + Commercial experience. + BD experience required. **Key attributes:** + Passionate design professional with an aspiration to grow and lead a design team + Exemplary communication, sales and interpersonal skills. + Ability to make effective and persuasive design presentations to employees, clients, management. + Drive design solutioning, with full comprehension of the life cycle of design services. + A team player, with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple local and regional teams. + Ability to comprehend, analyse, and interpret complex business documents. + Decisions made with understanding of procedure and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. + Plans and conducts tasks requiring independent judgement in the evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard design techniques and procedures.
