Job Title: Design Integration Control Coordinator

Type: Contract
Compensation: $63 - $80 hourly
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid

System One is seeking a Design Control Coordinator for a 12-month contract supporting a client located in Bellevue, WA. This role focuses on the management of engineering design activities, coordination of interfaces between project teams, and facilitation of engineering work planning. The position involves daily and weekly collaboration with multiple engineering teams to coordinate activities, develop detailed execution schedules for design control packages, and support teams in forecasting resources and needs to meet project milestones.

The successful candidate will work with engineers across various domains—such as plant-level functions, systems, components, and technical analyses—to ensure comprehensive schedule and project management integration.

Responsibilities:

Manage detailed schedule logic and interface ties for design control package activities within the design team and across other project teams. Create and track milestone alignment with task activities.

Support annual planning efforts, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budget forecasting.

Manage updates and modifications to the high-level engineering schedule in coordination with project controls. Facilitate change approvals for new or emerging engineering activities in accordance with scheduling standards.

Decompose high-level engineering tasks into detailed subtask schedules across various design teams.

Coordinate technical integration meetings and provide regular status updates.

Track and verify team assignments, manage engineering resource leveling, and produce weekly resource forecasts. Coordinate with stakeholders and resource managers for alignment and support.

Develop and refine standard design activity sequences for future design phases and procurement activities, including detailed sequences for specialized tasks such as procurements or integrated analyses.

Collect status updates from design teams and manage updates to project reporting systems. Provide periodic updates to engineering leadership, highlighting resource or sequencing risks.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 4 years of direct experience in engineering project management.

PMP certification preferred.

Demonstrated experience in managing engineering projects in the nuclear, energy, infrastructure, or aerospace industries.

Strong understanding of schedule management, including reporting, logic sequences, and forecasting.

Proficiency with project management tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project; experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, JIRA) a plus.

Knowledge of design control and configuration control principles is desirable.

Excellent organizational and communication skills with a keen attention to detail.

Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives with minimal supervision.

Capable of managing multiple competing priorities and resolving conflicts effectively.

High integrity, open communication, and a team-oriented mindset.
