Job Description:

Design Engineer - Hydraulics

Abu Dhabi

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Design Engineer (Hydraulics) to join our team! In this role you will get to be involved in prestigious projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Utility Design and Planning:

Design wet utility systems, including potable water networks, sewer systems, and stormwater drainage systems.Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and schematics using CAD software.Develop hydraulic models to analyze and optimize system performance.

Technical Analysis:

Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to determine project requirements.Perform calculations for pipe sizing, flow rates, pressure losses, and system capacities.Evaluate environmental and topographical data to ensure proper system integration.

Project Documentation:

Prepare technical reports, design specifications, and bill of quantities (BOQ).Ensure all designs comply with local regulations, codes, and standards.Maintain accurate records of design changes and project documentation.

Collaboration and Coordination:

Work closely with architects, urban planners, and other engineering disciplines to integrate wet utility systems into broader infrastructure projects.Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth project execution.

Problem-Solving and Support:

Identify and resolve design challenges or site-specific issues during the design and construction phases.Provide technical support during construction, including reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs (Requests for Information).

Compliance and Standards:

Ensure designs meet environmental sustainability goals and adhere to water conservation principles.Stay updated on advancements in wet utility technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.Experience: minimum 5 years of experience in wet utility design or infrastructure projects.Technical Skills:Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D)Experience with hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., EPANET, SewerGEMS, StormCAD, or InfoWorks).Strong understanding of water distribution, sewerage, and stormwater management systems.Familiarity with GIS software for utility mapping is a plus.Soft Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.Certifications (Optional): Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is an advantage.
