Role Summary:

The responsibilities of the Design Engineer role are closely related to engineering design. The Design Engineer must have a mix of practical and technical experience, having experience in different types of mechanical design. It is a pure Engineering role, design is the main focus.

Responsibilities:

Identify the pump's scope of supply, read customer specifications, and identify applicability.

Develop documentation for each project, monitor, and control the project. Plan and control the data book for each project.

Design mechanical seal support systems to meet customer specifications, industry standards and international codes.

Develop bills of materials and assembly drawings associated with the equipment, generate specifications for the purchase of accessories, instrumentation, piping, etc.

Provide production support, providing advice and tactical guidance on specification deviations and exceptions. Conduct materials review meetings when necessary.

Prepare project plans in accordance with client/contract requirements.

Coordinate project engineering resources and direct activities across multiple projects.

3D skills to produce skid drawings as well as piping schematics and bills of materials.

Instruct/guide Design team in the production of drawings, BOM’s, and supporting documentation for the manufacture, testing, installation, operation and support of mechanical seal auxiliary systems

Contribute expertise to global standardization efforts

Effectively manage an ongoing queue of multiple projects/orders with consideration to quality and on-time delivery

And any other assigned tasks

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, with 2+ years of industrial experience

Strong background in hydraulic systems design and function; experience with API and ASME codes preferredStrong analytical, problem solving, and computer skills

Advanced Office package

Skills in Autocad 2D, Inventor or SolidWorks 3D

Knowledge of rotating equipment desirable.

Intermediate English

Excellent ability to read and understand engineering drawings/documents

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong planning, time management and organizational skills; able to succeed in a collaborative environment while establishing and executing on priorities that include multiple projects, support requests and CIP initiatives 

Strong personnel development and mentoring skills
