Job Description
The Design Engineer 2 will join the Low-Pressure Fuel Systems group, supporting current products and driving improvements across design, supplier collaboration, and system integration. This role involves both hands-on and desk-based work, with a strong focus on problem-solving and cross-functional teamwork.
Responsibilities
Investigate and resolve warranty claims, customer complaints, and dealer inquiries.Lead and contribute to Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) initiatives.Implement solutions via design or process changes.Maintain engineering prints and drawings in collaboration with global teams.Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability standards.Partner with suppliers to develop and implement design/process improvements.Work cross-functionally with system integration and internal teams.Participate in lab testing with test engineers to validate design changes.Support integration of fuel systems across electronics, filters, and related components.Coordinate with internal teams to ensure system alignment.Essential Skills
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.Strong engineering problem-solving skills.Ability to interpret engineering drawings and prints.Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications
2+ years of engineering experience (co-op/internship experience may count).Background in heavy-duty machines, engines, or engine components.Experience in product design, supplier collaboration, or manufacturing engineering.Candidates with strong internship experience may be considered, including new grads.Work Environment
This position is 100% onsite in Mossville, IL, with work divided into approximately 80% desk work and 20% lab/hands-on activities. Minimal travel is required, around 5%, to suppliers or plants in the Midwest, Lafayette, or Maine.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $36.00/hr.
