Job Description
As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing molds from start to finish, working collaboratively with two other designers. You will create basic and detailed part prints and designs for customers across various industries, with occasional duties involving fixture design. A significant portion of your workday will involve designing molds, creating prints, and conducting mold flows, with some time spent on the shop floor.
ResponsibilitiesDesign molds from concept to completion.Collaborate with other designers to create detailed part prints and designs.Engage in the design of fixtures as needed.Spend approximately 70% of the day on mold design and flow creation, and 30% on the shop floor.Essential SkillsMinimum of 3 years experience in designing plastic injection molds.Proficiency in Cimatron software.Strong understanding of mold design, injection molding processes, and tooling materials.Competency in Microsoft Office Suite.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with mold flow software to create and write mold flows.Engineering degree preferred.Previous experience interfacing with customers is advantageous.Work Environment
This role is situated in a company specializing in molded plastic prototyping services. Core offerings include rapid prototyping, injection molding, aluminum tooling, CNC machining, 3D printing, and design assistance and finishing services. The work environment supports a variety of industries, including aerospace, automotive, defense, industrial, and medical sectors. The position operates on the 1st shift, Monday to Friday, from 6 am to 4 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Centreville, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $37.00/hr.
