Position Overview:

As a Design Engineer on the water pump design and development team at Mercury Marine you will create components, assemblies, and test fixtures for current and future marine propulsion systems. In this role you will work closely with engineers and technicians on the team, as well as, collaborate with other cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, service, and procurement.

Essential Functions:

Provide CAD support for mechanical component design and developmentEvaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, criteria, and judgment to assignmentsDefine component specificationsProvide tolerance stack-ups and then apply them to GD&T when creating the component drawings.Work independently when needed to develop solutions with minimal supervisionCollaborate with Engineers, CAD designers, technicians, and cross-functional team members as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degreePrevious internship or co-op experienceProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ProjectCAD experienceExperience designing structural components

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with marine propulsion systems or boating in general

2+ years of experienceExperience designing components for marine / corrosive environments (i.e. salt water)Aluminum and stainless steel material selection

Experience with Creo for 3D model evaluation or component analysis

Experience within Teamcenter engineering or similar PLM software/Change Release Process

The anticipated pay range for this position is $61,400 - $98,600 annually.  The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.  In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus program. At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
