Job Title: Aerospace Design Engineer – CATIA V5

Location: Bengaluru

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Design Engineer with strong proficiency in CATIA V5 and a solid background in metallic and composite structural design. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in aerospace product development, including part design, surface modeling, and assembly processes, with a keen understanding of manufacturing constraints and standards.

Primary Responsibilities

Analyze and interpret engineering inputs such as Change Requests, Technical Requirement Documents (TRDs), and customer specifications.Design and model components using CATIA V5 (Part Design, Surface Design, Assembly, Sheet Metal, and Drafting).Develop detailed designs with an emphasis on metallic structures and foundational knowledge of sheet metal, casting, and forging.Perform detailed and assembly-level dimensional stack-ups.Support material selection and conduct component weight assessments.Select appropriate fasteners based on structural requirements and design standards.Conduct trade studies and evaluations to support design decisions.Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and create Model-Based Definitions (MBD).Generate 3D PDF and technical documentation.Knowledge in Teamcenter.

Contribute to Interface Control Document (ICD) creation (preferred).



Work Experience

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience with CATIA V5.Familiarity with CATIA CPD (Composites Part Design) is a plus.Proficiency in Microsoft Word; strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.Solid understanding of aerospace structural design and industry standards.Overall awareness of manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacture principles.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Nacelle systems and structural components.Knowledge of aerospace structural design involving both metallic and composite materials.
