Deployment Technician
Insight Global
The Deployment Technician plays a crucial role in our new hire refresh project. They are responsible for replacing and swapping PCs, building computers, shipping and collecting equipment, and deploying workstations for a Windows 11 buildout. Any machines incompatible with Windows 11 will be sent to this team to replace the old equipment with new equipment compatible for Windows 11. Additional responsibilities include:
Workstation Provisioning:
Assemble, configure, and provision workstations according to company standards.
Install operating systems, software applications, and necessary updates.
Set up user profiles, network connectivity, and security settings.
Ensure all hardware components (CPU, RAM, storage, etc.) function properly.
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory.
Track serial numbers, asset tags, and other identifiers.
Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams for timely equipment delivery.
Deployment and Collection:
Deploy workstations to any equipment not on Windows 11, ensuring timely setup.
Collect and decommission old equipment from incompatible Win 11 machines.
Handle equipment transfers between departments or locations.
Documentation and Reporting:
Update provisioning documentation, including build procedures and checklists.
Generate reports on provisioning activities, inventory levels, and equipment status.

Communicate effectively with end-users during workstation deployments.
