NaphCare is hiring a Dental Director to join our team of medical professionals in the ASPC - Tucson in Tucson, Arizona.
As a Correctional Dental Director, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to oversee the dental department and provide dental care to the incarcerated individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have a variety of duties to keep you engaged. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical and dental needs.
ResponsibilitiesThe Dental Director is responsible for overseeing the dental program and ensuring quality dental care is provided to protect the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Responsibilities may include and not be limited to:
Developing and implementing dental services policies, procedures and protocolsPerforming direct dental care services for the patients in residenceEnsuring compliance with State and Federal mandates and regulations, including court mandates and standardsCollaborating on with other medical professionals to ensure staff are responsive to patients’ needsTraining, supervising, and evaluating dental staffOverseeing dental program budget QualificationsEducation / Licenses / Certifications
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or equivalentExperience in clinical dentistry and correctional settings preferredValid dental license in the state where the facility is locatedCPR certificationCurrent DEA registration
Experience / Requirements / Qualifications / Skills
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsTechnical skills in providing a full range of dental servicesKnowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standardsAble to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationDisplay integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirementsMust pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening
Physical Capabilities:
Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
