Description:

Position Purpose:
As a Dental Assistant at Mercy Care Atlanta, you will provide crucial support in delivering comprehensive dental services to medically underserved individuals. Working under the direct supervision of a dentist or dental hygienist, you will assist with patient care, instrument preparation, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth clinical operations. You’ll also participate in community health events and outreach 3-4 times a year.
 

What You Will Do:

Assist dentists and hygienists in performing a variety of dental procedures.

Monitor vital signs and observe patients under sedation, alerting the dentist to any concerns.

Prepare, sterilize, and organize dental instruments and equipment.

Ensure accurate preparation and updating of patient records.

Participate in training and development of other dental staff.

Offer compassionate care for a wide range of patients, including children, adults, and the elderly.

Engage in community health events to expand dental care access.
 

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; dental assistant vocational school preferred.

Certified to operate radiographic equipment in Georgia.

At least one year of experience assisting in comprehensive dental treatments.

CPR certification required.

Proficiency in dental instruments, equipment, and materials.

Strong communication and organizational skills.
