Circle K has established a commercial energy trading capacity to further commercialize and develop our fuel activities in our markets. This required a change in the way we operate, how we set up our support functions, adapt our IT systems and more.  A vital part of the initiative was to establish a designated commercial capacity in Geneva under a new company – Circle K Energy Trading. This capacity manages the commercial decision making and trading activities across Europe.

Therefore, we are looking for a fuel professional who is willing to try something new, take an entrepreneurial step, still being supported by a strong fundament of fuel retail legacy in our markets and is ready to join Circle K as:

DEMURRAGE SPECIALIST (WORKING WITHIN CARGO & TRADING OPERATIONS TEAM)

Main Responsibilities:

Handle both payable and receivable demurrage claims related to vessel movements performed at Circle K Energy Trading House

Perform laytime calculations to determine if demurrage charges are applicable as per charterparty agreements, GTC’s and commercial contracts

Prepare detailed reports as per agreed templates and identify trends and areas for improvements in order to reduce overall demurrage exposure

Secure that recievable demurrage claims are issued within contractual deadlines and invoicing performed without delays

Follow invoicing process both payable and recievable for demurrages as per internal policy

Work with trading risk management system (ETRM Symphony), update inputs for demurrage related data needed for daily PNL

Participate and develop demurrage platform

As a part of position responsibilities it will be expected to go through training within Cargo and Trading Operations Team and be ready to secure backups when necessary. Those will include:

work with refined products and its components (diesel fuels, gasoline, aviation fuel, LPG, fuel additives and bio components),

execute shipping program (vessels, barges),

perform vetting, terminal clearance, sanction check for vessels as per internal policy and procedures - backup for Cargo & Trading Operators

work together with Marine Charterer and optimize vessel rotation and freight cost - backup for Cargo & Trading Operators

control cost related to external services: inspections, agents, etc.

Main Requirements:

Preferable degree or experience in Shipping Industry/Maritime Academy

Previous experience in demurrage handling, tanker operations will considered as an advantage

Experience in developing PowerBI Reports will be considered as an advantage

Good communication skills in combination with fluent English

Organized, stress resistant, goal-oriented and proactive personality

Strong analytical skills and commercial mindset

Readiness to support business in critical situations outside office hours (for operational matters)
