What You'll be doing
\n\nPrepare and present high-quality dishes for the restaurant, functions, and other hotel outlets\nComplete all mise en place for relevant menus and ensure food is stored and handled correctly\nMaintain a clean, organised work area, following strict food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP, FSMS), and preventing cross-contamination\nSupport smooth day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring efficient, timely service and consistent food quality\nRespond to guest queries in a professional and timely manner\nAssist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team\nContribute to cost control efforts and support departmental financial targets\nReport any maintenance, hygiene, or safety issues promptly\nWork cooperatively with other departments and maintain strong working relationships\nAdhere to all hotel security, fire, health & safety, and food safety regulations\nStay aware of team and departmental goals and actively contribute to achieving them\nPromote environmental awareness in daily operations\nWhat We're Looking For
\n\nA minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Demi Chef or equivalent role, ideally in a 5-star hotel or fine dining environment\nFull Australian working rights and a relevant trade qualification\nExcellent culinary skills with a solid understanding of food safety and hygiene practices\nThe ability to work well under pressure, manage competing priorities, and think on your feet\nFlexibility to move across different kitchens and service periods as needed\nA team-focused mindset with strong communication and problem-solving skills\nA genuine passion for food, trends, and continuous learning\nAvailability to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends\n\n\n
