Job Summary
This role will be part of a team that actively manages a portfolio of large commercial and industrial demand response customers and that supports AEP’s Operating Companies on its current demand response programs and opportunities for new customer programs / business models. The aim of these programs is to grow the overall capability for flexible load management to provide benefits to the grid and the broader customer base. This role is responsible for providing the necessary support of end-to-end management of assets and programs led or supported by AEP’s Commercial Operations team. Other responsibilities include supporting the development of new flexible load programs and recommending enhancements to existing programs.Job Description

What you'll do:Grade 6: Demand Response Associate
Responsible for the onboarding, management, and advancement of demand response (DR) products and associated assetsConduct research to support enhancements of existing programs and development of new programsPerform data synthesis, create data visuals, create key performance indicators (KPIs), and track progressSupport the delivery of training and education to Commercial Operations Market Operations teams to ensure optimal utilization of DR assetsPromote a cooperative working environment with an emphasis on safety, good utility practice, customer satisfaction, and innovationDevelop effective communications for internal and external audiences on the value, opportunities, roadblocks, and status of DR programs and new business modelsSkills should include critical thinking, creativeness, and attention to detailGrade 7: Demand Response Analyst

Education: Associate’s degree in a business or technical related field OR 3 years of relevant work experience (utility, distributed energy resources) with a HS diplomaExperience: No additional experience is required, other than any necessary to satisfy the educational requirements.Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree & prior experience in identifying and tracking customer and technology trends.Grade 7: Demand Response Analyst
Education: Associate’s degree in technology, business, engineering, or related fieldExperience: Minimum of 3 years utility or related experiencePreferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Prior experience with product development and demonstrated success of moving from idea to value using lean startup and design thinking. Prior experience in RTO/Commercial Operations, customer programs. Prior experience in identifying and tracking customer and technology trendsGrade 8: Demand Response Analyst Sr.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in technology, business, engineering, or related fieldExperience: Minimum of 5 years utility or related experiencePreferred Qualifications: Advanced degree. Certified Energy Manager. Experience with SPP and/or PJM markets. Prior experience in RTO/Commercial Operations, customer programs. Prior experience with product development and demonstrated success of moving from idea to value using lean startup and design thinking.
