ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Within the Supply Chain function sit our Planning teams. With a population of over three hundred people these teams are a competitor leading, purpose built Global Hub, covering a multitude of Planning areas
where we share best practice in a centralized and standard way to deliver industry leading service at
best cost and the right level of inventory.
Our Global Demand Planning Team are responsible for ensuring good prediction of Sales across the
world. This signal drives the full End to End Supply Chain from logistics through production and onto
supplier orders. The team collaborates with the markets to get the best Business Intelligence to input to the Machine Learning Models to create the best forecast. The team also ensure all New Product
launches are reflected correctly within the forecast.
THE ROLE
The Demand Planning Manager leads a team of professionals to deliver forecasting activities (units and
value) for their scope of responsibility within the Coty portfolio.
Key Success Measures
• Forecast accuracy (WAPE) – measures the accuracy of the weighted absolute percentage error over
a 90-day period.
• % cut driven by under forecast – calculates the percentage of inventory cuts driven by under forecasting, indicating instances where demand exceeds forecasted quantities.
• % Forecast completeness – 2-year long range forecast.
• SPP3 – evaluates the bias in the 3-month forecast by measuring the deviation from the actual
demand over a 3-month period.
• SPP1 – evaluates the bias in the 1-month forecast by measuring the deviation from actual demand
over a 1-month period.
• Bias - measures the overall bias in the process, considering factors such as forecast accuracy,
demand variability, and supply chain performance.

Core Responsibilities
• Define and lead short-term operational strategies, aligned with the Planning vision and long-term
strategy, ensuring clear communication and stakeholder engagement so that KPIs and deliverables
are successfully executed. • Daily operational leadership to deliver best in practice processes and ensuring all tasks are based on
the segmentation principles.
• Build dependable and partnering relationships with key stakeholders across a global network to
deliver targets.
• Lead the resolution of problems escalated, by creating mitigation plans and engaging the team to
the solutions, following the relevant process, and escalating further where appropriate.
• Lead the risk management processes as applicable to the Planning area.
• Be a strategic partner by delivering, optimizing, and analyzing reports and projections for the
assigned scope, identifying anomalies, trends and intelligence making recommendations
accordingly.
• Implement and lead monthly team Demand reviews to ensure reasonability of short- and long-term
plans including initiatives post launch. Create action plans as necessary and ensure the actions are
delivered.
• Lead monthly KPI reviews with the Demand and local market Planners.
• Evaluate data and utilize your market knowledge to establish action plans to improve KPIs,
coordinate interventions on machine learning/statistical models, quality of data forecast driver
inputs and accuracy of Demand assumptions.
• Lead the weekly progress updates for the action plan with key stakeholders including Data Science,
Demand Planning, and local market teams.
• Design and lead process improvement workshops with the local market teams, collaborating with
the Supply Chain market and S&OP leaders on interventions to extract the right forecast information
from the local Sales and Marketing teams.
• Attend key meetings representing Demand Planning including Supply Hub reviews to collaborate
with key team members to resolve challenges, ensure forecast consistency and align plans for Supply
constraint recovery.
• Escalation point of contact for Demand and local market teams, actioning planning/resolving and
escalating as appropriate.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Degree (or equivalent work experience) in a Supply Chain discipline.
• Planning mastery – understanding of key systems (such as SAP, JDA, OMP, Excel, o9) with experience
of Supply Planning and knowledge of Supply Chain end to end. • Coaching team members.
