Job Description

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Works with Key Account Managers to prepare long-range forecast (18 months) by sku for each customerAnalyzes order history and prepares demand forecasts in order to maintain order fill rates and inventory turns to the Business Unit’s goalsEvaluates the effectiveness of Continental’s current forecast by analyzing how well it predicted the prior month’s order volumesReports forecast accuracy and steps taken to achieve desired target. Coordinates shared stock keeping units (sku) to ensure forecasts are in line with all known customer demandsMaintains the forecast, assigned customers and coordinates the sharing of informationMaintains APO (Advanced Planning Optimizer), Continental’s SAP forecast module within its ERP software suite, tool for feeding information into the supply chain functions of ContinentalLeads collaboration process with key customersInterface with customers and sales teams to obtain information needed to make accurate forecasting decisionsCoordinates with Product Planning to ensure smooth transitions when skus are dropped and/or added to assigned product lines to minimize excess or obsolete inventory and out of stocks. Works with Continental’s product development team and Launch Manager to create a smooth transition in and out of product introductions and removals to ensure good product coverage and fill rates for new tires and low inventory and reduced discounting and scrapping of discontinued tires.Builds Tableau Reports that helps the department to analyze their customer requirements seamlessly and forecast accuracyMonitors Continental’s Winter Tire program. Tracks orders and matches forecast – to – orders and limits the possibility of over producing unneeded product, resulting in large discounts or even scrapping of tiresPerform and coordinate demand planning software trainings

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE 

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related 5+ five years of professional experience in forecasting, including: analyzing sales and order history for a business unit and generating forecasts of future demand used in the planning of production and or the utilization of resources and capital5+ years experience: using Microsoft Office Suite’s Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel products to create presentations and spreadsheets utilizing pivot tables, graphs and advanced formulas5+ years of inventory planning experience; establishing inventory targets and managing phase in and phase out of new productsExperience in leading collaboration meetings with direct and indirect customersPrior experience working with Demand planning software toolsLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Continental is only able to offer visa support for internals individuals who currently hold an existing valid employment visaCan offer relocation if needed

ADDITIONAL WAYS TO STAND OUT 

  Institute of Business Forecasting and Planning (IBF) certification CPF/ACPF7+ years of related Demand Planning experience
