Demand Planner

Emerson’s Test and Measurement Demand Planning Team is looking for a highly analytical and experienced Demand Planner (Level 4 or 5) to join our fast-paced, multinational environment in Austin, TX! In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams across different business units, playing a critical role in driving our Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated professional to be part of a dynamic team that values precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities: (add BU demand framework responsibility)

Drive the development and implementation of the Business Unit (BU) Demand Framework: Lead all aspects of the end-to-end process for capturing, forecasting, and prioritizing demand within the business unit, ensuring alignment with overall organizational goals and resource allocation strategies Participate actively in the S&OP process, ensuring alignment between demand, supply, and business strategy. Provide detailed analysis and reports to support decision-making, highlighting variances, trends, and forecast accuracy metrics. Collaborate with regional and global customers to harmonize demand planning practices. Act as a key contact point for demand planning within the organization, effectively communicating across teams and levels. Support ad hoc projects and initiatives that drive continuous improvement in planning processes and systems.  

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Economics, or related field. MBA or Master’s preferred. Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in demand planning, supply chain, or forecasting roles. Demonstrated experience working with multiple business units in a matrix or complex organizational structure. Proven track record of operating effectively in an S&OP-driven environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret large datasets and translate insights into actionable plans. Advanced MS Excel skills; proficiency with MS Office Suite and Power BI Experience with Kinaxis Maestro or other advanced planning tools is a strong advantage. Lean or Six Sigma is preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present data clearly to stakeholders. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
