Summary:
Procedure Scheduler and Coordinator for Labor and Delivery Room
Direct Contact and Liaison for Physicians and Office Managers to schedule procedures and appointments for the Delivery Room
Performs as patient advocate by providing advanced level clerical and administrative support and coordinates the patient care activities for the physician practice operations.
Responsibilities:
� Assess and performs clerical needs of the unit and unit management in a knowledgeable, skillful and consistent manner.
� Create, organize and maintain patient medical records; maintaining strict confidentiality for patients and their families.
� Formulates and uses effective working relationships with all healthcare team members and patients
� Coordinates and schedules appointments and obtains authorization for testing, referrals, surgical procedures, hospital procedures and admissions
� Schedules and prioritizes procedures based on acuity and medical necessity.
� Manages daily, weekly and annual schedules as related to hospital block times, physician and OR coordination.
� Patient liaison prior to procedures to provide preoperative and day of surgery instructions.
� Maintains the State of CT System (MAVEN) to input and verify Newborn PKU screening, Congenital Heart screening and hearing screen.
� Maintains clean, safe and orderly work environment
� Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to their position. notary public duties, basic life support (BLS)
� Answer phones, call bell and interacts with visitors, patients and staff members I an efficient and courteous manner.
� Prepare and coordinate transportation of State Tests to CT Testing Facility, per state guidelines.
� Follows Nuvance Health standards of service excellence.
� Other job duties as needed to assist the unit
Education: DIPLOMA
