On our facilities team, your job will be to create a comfortable and safe environment, just like our patients have come to expect. As a Delivery Assistant, you are responsible for monitoring chute rooms, answering calls to take emergency orders, delivering additional support and working the scrub window. In this position you will work under close supervision in accordance with safety regulations, policies and procedures. This position is a great opportunity that can allow you to grow your career and serves as a steppingstone to a leader or supervisor role within Materials Management, such as an Inventory Processor. **A caregiver in this role works evenings from 12:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. with rotating weekend requirements.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Receive scrubs and clean uniforms, place them in the proper inventory area, and distribute them while working in the uniform room. + Deliver and retrieve clean linen exchange carts to and from hospital departments/units in a prompt and courteous manner, following all safety procedures and staging carts for pick-up as needed. + Deliver empty soiled linen carts and bins to hospital departments/units and retrieve soiled linen in prescribed containers, following all sanitary and safety policies; stage containers for pick-up and transport them to the dock. + Monitor and empty all soiled linen chute rooms. + Answer telephones to take regular and emergency linen orders, process requests according to established procedures, and maintain written records of all orders filled and processed. + Deliver emergency linen orders as needed and operate the scrub window. + Maintain a neat, clean, safe, and organized work area. + Complete mandatory education and training to meet organizational and department-specific competencies and requirements. + Follow all hospital and department policies and procedures, with attention to attendance, punctuality, confidentiality, dress code, ID badge display, and safety.
