Deliver Driver/Food Worker ($19/hr, Full Time) - Juneau School District
**Job Description** We’re seeking a reliable, flexible team member to serve in a dual role—part-time delivery driver and part-time food service worker. You will deliver meals and supplies across school sites and assist with kitchen operations at **Dzantik’i Heeni Middle School** . This is a full-time position. **Responsibilities** + Deliver meals, supplies, and equipment to schools using your personal vehicle. + Load/unload deliveries and assist with receiving and storing freight. + Maintain a detailed daily mileage log; reimbursement is provided at the **current federal rate.** + Must complete driver safety training before starting. + A valid Alaska driver’s license and **personal auto insurance** are required. Employer provides commercial coverage during delivery duties only. **Schedule & Flexibility:** + Shift start times vary daily (between 5:00 AM and 8:00 AM) based on operational needs. + Minimum of 30 hours per week; actual hours may vary regarding delivery volume and staffing needs. + Responsibilities are split between driving and kitchen duties but may shift day to day based on coverage needs. **Food Service Duties:** + Support daily kitchen operations at Dzantik’i Heeni Middle School after deliveries. + Assist with meal prep, cooking, cleaning, dishwashing, stocking, and general sanitation. + Help set up and break down service areas and remove garbage. + May be reassigned to assist at other schools as needed. **Additional Info:** + This position does not supervise other staff. + Must maintain flexibility and work independently when needed. + Reliable transportation and consistent availability are essential. **Qualifications** + High school diploma or GED equivalent. + A valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS’ vehicle insurance policy. + Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English. + You are required to obtain and submit an Alaska Food Worker Card to your manager within 30 days of your hire date. + The card is valid for 3 years, and training must be completed through an approved provider. **Preferred Qualifications** + Six (6) months of food service experience. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Weather:Indoors/outdoors, on the road, at times environmentally controlled. Noise level:The noise level in the work environment is usually mild Description of controlled environment:This is a cafeteria environment located on a University Campus setting. Physical requirements: Employee is required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Frequently to constantly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
