Reporting to the Head of Quality and Delegated Governance, the Delegated Governance Lead will be responsible for supporting the organization’s Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) arrangements.  This role will partner with underwriters, business leaders and stakeholders to evaluate, onboard, cultivate and manage a diverse portfolio of partnerships that advance Global Specialty’s delegated underwriting strategy and service objectives.

WORK AGGRANEMENTS: This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement.  Candidates who live near one of our office locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise. 

RESPONSIBILITES:

Collaborate with business units and key stakeholders to evaluate, perform due diligence and implement new delegated relationships. Partner with the business unit delegated program leads and stakeholders throughout the organization to monitor, govern, evaluate, and assess the performance of existing programs.Ensure profitability and set and attain growth and rate targets through the review and coordination of the end-to-end underwriting program administration requirements.Develop and maintain delegated program monitoring and governance tools to proactively monitor the progress of the programs, handling escalations, assisting in resolving issues, identifying booking errors, developing and enforcing corrective actions when required in conjunction with the necessary Global Specialty business partners and key stakeholders across the organization (i.e. Actuary, Finance, Legal, Agency Compensation, IT, etc.).Engage and influence leadership to drive execution of both short and long term priorities aligned with strategic objectives for delegated authority arrangements. Coordinate with the international delegated team to promote consistency in delegated governance and reporting.Collaborate closely with the Quality Management team to ensure timely and thorough completion of Delegated Underwriting Authority quality reviews.Represent The Hartford at MGA-related conferences and events to enhance visibility and leadership in the delegated space.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 5 years of experience, with focus and experience in a variety of Casualty and Property Lines a plusStrong project management, negotiation, influencing, critical thinking and analytical skillsDemonstrate strategic thinking as well as "roll up your sleeves" action with strong multi-tasking abilityAbility to influence diverse teams and building strong relationships with business partners and leadership teamAbility to collaborate with and understand the needs of senior leadership and their staff and translating those needs into actionsAbility to absorb multi-disciplinary input and translate into effective actionsDemonstrate strong data analytic skills and familiarity with key business tools and data management systemsUnderstanding of the underwriting processes, inclusive of information risk analysis, rating methodology, underwriting guidelines and risk decision making, insurance coverage terms and conditions, and document administration (i.e.  Quotes, Binders, Policy)Superior oral and written communications skillsStrong presentation skillsAbility to collaborate to drive effective partnerships and deliver successful business outcomesBachelor’s degree

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$108,240 - $162,360
